Arc800 Coffee Roaster

$5,250.00

The Arc 800 is an easy to set up, and intuitive lab-grade roaster that is designed to grow with a roaster and their business.  The machine’s capacity is from 100 g-800 g allowing it to serve well as a sample roaster that very closely approximates a scaled drum-roasting environment.  At the high-end of it’s capacity the Arc S is a small batch workhorse for home coffee roasters and nano roasters.  The Arc 800 is fabricated with industrial materials that are built to last and engineered for stability roast-to-roast allowing for long days of consistent production.  We designed the Arc 800 to be fully manual and connected, allowing the roaster to control (stepless) airflow, gas pressure and drum speed, while monitoring roast progress via artisan or Cropster.  The Arc 800 now boasts 4 temperature probes, 3 RTDs (measuring ET, BT and MET) +  incoming air, and also features a redesigned motherboard for quick data transfers into your roast tracking software.  While intuitive to operate, the Arc 800’s overbuilt feature-set equips a user with the same capability and connectivity of fully commercial drum roasters, making this an ideal machine to build a drum roasting skillset that will translate easily to larger formats as businesses and careers progress.  Please email (showroom [at] croptocup.com) to schedule a demo at the Crop to Cup Coffee Importers Showroom.

Arc 800 Coffee Roaster

ROASTER TYPE: Professional, gas or electric

CAPACITY: 100-800 grams / .33-1.75 pounds.  Suggested Roast Volumes: 600-720 grams for large batch, or 300-400 grams for small batch

HEAT SOURCE:  Gas heat / propane (LP) @ 16,000 BTUs  LNG optional but requires special order (email us) and customer must ensure gas pressure of 30-50 mbar in incoming LNG line (LNG is usually lower pressure than LPG). The majority of customers operate with LPG/propane due to much easier setup and more reliable pressure.   There is also an option for a fully electric model (no gas, 220v only, white or black only)

GAS CONNECTION: Included with propane models is a custom high quality propane regualator made in the USA, allowing up to a powerful 50mbar of gas pressure. Hooks up to a standard propane tank or you can have a gas plumber connect the unit to your building’s propane line.  LNG users need to have a gas professional provide a pressure regualator allowing 30-50mbar pressure and connect the roaster to building gas line.

CONTROL: This machine is designed to have all the manual controls that larger capacity commercial machines would offer.  The Arc 800 features a variable speed drum as well as stepless control of airflow and heat.  An airflow meter (now included  standard) on all Arc roasters gives precision readings of air pressure in the system.

TEMPERATURE PROBES: Four temperature probes at 100-500 millisecond sampling rate displayed on the roaster screen or on a computer. The 4 probes measure environmental temperature (ET), bean temperature (BT), exhaust/maximum environmental temperature (MET), and air-in temperature (air entering the drum from the burner)! ET, BT and MET use 3mm PT100 RTD probes. A 4mm K-type thermocouple measures air-in.   The placement, accuracy, and speed of the data allows for precise profiling and monitoring for RoR spikes and crashes.

ROAST TRACKING/CONNECTIVITY: Track/profile roasts with Artisan or Cropster  – connected by USB.  RTD probes send data to Artisan or Cropster at a 100 millisecond (1/10 second) sampling rate, or to the roaster’s screen at a 500 millisecond (1/2 second) sampling rate. [Instructions for connecting your Arc to Cropster]

COOLING: Cooling fan is separate for powerful and quick cooling.  Separate cooling fan also allows for the roasting airflow and environment to maintain stability roast to roast, allowing for consistency in heavy production days.

VENTILATION: Via 3″ flexible venting duct, separate outlets from cooling fan and airflow fan.

WARRANTY: Industry-standard warranty covers parts for 1 year. Shipping on parts is covered for the first month.
