About Showroom Coffee
Showroom is the team behind Crop to Cup Coffee Importers – the roasters, quality controllers, and enthusiasts who run the lab in Brooklyn, NY.
Our goal is to support and grow with small roasters, from home hobbyists all the way to up commercial nano-roasteries. We do this by building upon decades of experience cultivated at Crop to Cup, sustaining relationships on both ends of the supply chain. The coffees we offer come from those relationships, and the tools you'll find here are those used in our own headquarters and in partner labs across the world.
Showroom is meant to be an easy way to share exceptional coffees alongside everything you need to make the most of them. For more about our Crop to Cup's history and exactly how we got here, read on.
How Showroom Began
To paint a full picture of Showroom, we need to start with our sister company, Crop to Cup Coffee Importers.
Crop to Cup has been importing specialty green coffee and selling to roasting companies since the early 00's, formally trademarking in 2007. Even a few years before that, our founders, Taylor and Jake, were working with farmers on Mt. Elgon in Uganda both to improve quality and—more importantly—connect them to the market. From there, we expanded across East Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Most of the relationships with farmers, cooperatives, and exporters that you see represented at Showroom stretch back many years, allowing you to select from a wide range of offerings vetted for more than quality alone.
A lot has happened since 2007, here’s a timeline to keep it all straight:

2010
Needing a bigger warehouse for our coffees and quality lab, we opened our ‘Showroom’ in Gowanus, Brooklyn. -
2014
We started working on the plans for the Arc roaster. This would be a durable, professional-grade roasting machine on a scale small enough to help new roasters and suppliers know their coffees better. -
2016
We launched the Arc 800, an 800g small batch roaster. Its smaller sibling, Arc S Sample Roaster, wouldn’t launch until the 2019 SCA Expo. -
2019
We moved to an even bigger warehouse in Brooklyn, NY. This is our current Showroom, where we house coffee, machine inventory, our quality lab, and welcome customers (when able). This allowed us to launch Showroom Coffee so we could focus more fully on serving small, independent roasters.

And this starts with home hobbyists, those who enjoy learning, exploring, and having more control over their coffee. It includes those of us who have developed preferences for particular profiles that can be difficult to find if we don't make them ourselves. For those who relish the joy of sampling across a harvest, workshopping roast profiles, and recreating the winning profile time and time again. Showroom is also for coffee professionals who haven't had access to a good, traditional sample roaster, for retailers who want to better know their coffee, trainers needing tools for teaching, and exporters needing to upgrade their labs—at home or in the field.
