Thunguri is a village with a wet mill that services the farmers from around the immediate area. This is the Thunguri FCS, members of the 9 washing station Kibirigwi Farmers Society. These washing stations have teamed up to deliver the best services, and premiums, to their members. They must, because this is Kenya’s coffee heartland, and competition is fierce. Thunguri’s strategy is to focus on quality. And this is what they’ve done – growing up to nearly 900 active members, and representing the region’s top farmers.
