While Sidikalang is well known for its large commercial production, this lot comes from a growing area of only around 120 hectares across 200 smallholder farmers. Yields are low in this well established coffee growing region where heavy demand from the local market can reduce incentive to focus on quality. The collector we work with, Mrs. Sihotang and Mr Thomas Manao, has been working in coffee in and around Parbuluan Village for over 20 years, building the connections that are critical to working with farmers to produce high quality.
