Only 50 smallholder farmers contribute to this lot. They are located around the village of Daki Bor Lebatu, in Akibor Kebele, a small area of Guji’s Hambella sub-region. This community is a part of one of the most impressive outgrower programs we’ve seen anywhere in Ethiopia. Each group (like these 50 farmers) receives regular contract from our production partner, Dimtu Coffee. Dimtu’s impressive outgrower program keeps highly detailed record of all smallholders who contribute. In exchange for registration and a committment to deliver their cherry to Dimtu’s Damu Washing Station, farmers receive high quality agronomy trainng and QC training around picking and transport. Every year we gravitate to Dimtu’s programs like the one they have in Daki Bor Lebatu – rarely in the coffee world do we see Dimtu’s level commitment to sustainability and high level of field orgazniation.
